A turnkey project design by MAK Engineers and supervised by the Engineers of the Nevis Government, construction of a network of 10 roads connecting various villages – total length of the roadwork is 5.6 km, dual carriageway (6 m wide), removal of existing concrete track road (3 m wide) and clearance of vegetation for 6 m wide new road, removal of top soil and placement of good quality fill material to required sub-grade level, laying of utility lines, manholes and valve chambers; Construction of concrete curbs, concrete slipper drains, box culverts and swales for transverse drainage, box drains, 1 m wide footpaths on both sides of the road, retaining walls and guard rails embedded in bollards and protection works; 200 mm thick crusher run base course, compacted sub-grade and 75 mm thick asphalt wearing course, traffic signs, road markings and embankment slopes are to be landscaped.
