The Ministry of Public Works (MPW) project started with SE-34 utilizing the latest technology systems in tunneling and micro-tunneling systems. Project includes demolition of 29 existing pump stations, closing existing network systems, diverting all remaining small network pipes onto new network system, a new network system, and a new pump station A-7/A12 being built on about 7 levels below ground and 3 levels above for a total built-up area of 53,590 m2 . The new Pump Station will replace the existing 29 Pump Stations, all sewage water flow will be continuously monitored from the new Pump Station. A-7/A12 Pumping Station is 40 m below ground level and is composed of 8 pumps + 2 standby pumps each capable of delivering 1,400 L/S with a maximum head of 80 m for a capacity of 741,000 m3/per day (9 M3/per sec).
Numerous pen-stocks, valves, Vartex grit removal units and 4 x 1,000 dia. rising mains; 43 km of various size tunnels ranging from 400 mm to 2250 mm dia. up to 40 m deep; construction of 380 shafts using various methods such as caissons, sheet piles, secant piles, diaphragm walls, backdrops & vortex chambers up to 10 m dia.
